What to Read after Twilight

Okay, so how odd is it that I am writing about Twilight all these years later (to me...pretty odd...lol). Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Twilight before it became a mainstream, teeny bopper (lol, I sound like my mother!) major motion picture. I persistently looked for something similar to read, yet something much more grown up.

There are butt loads of vampire reads on the market today. I have read a lot of them, but not many can make this list.

1. The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward- A MUCH more grown up vampire series! In fact, my favorite vamp series of all time! Each book focuses on one male and female character and the struggles they face for true love despite their differnet situations. While each book has some action adventure in regards to an enemy, there is always love hidden somewhere between the lines, and the love story is always fantastic! (I have a few reviews of DBD posted, I am slowly working to get the entire series reviewed)

2. The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris- this is the series that the HBO show “True Blood” is based off of). This was an EXCELLENT series, even if you have watched the show you can still read the books. They follow a smiliar story line but each are different in their own way and I have love for both. There is a ton of romance, adventure, betrayal and an ongoing “love triangle” that just gets better as better, as the series continues (I have not reviewed any of these yet, they were read long before we started blogging. I will have to get them posted soon).
And....that's it for now...see pretty short list. It's hard to make the cut and be on my vampire list! I am very particular and fond of each of my vampires and have to make sure they are perfect for this list, lol.
