Tour Stop & Giveaway: Ambrosia by Erin Noelle

Blurb:
After coming to terms with the tragedy that rocked her world, Scarlett MacGregor has returned to try to pick up the pieces of the broken relationships that she left behind.

Ash and Mason were left devastated and heartbroken following Scarlett’s sudden, unannounced departure. They are both ready and willing to forgive her and welcome her back into their lives with open arms.

However, a lot can happen in 8 months…

Scarlett must learn to overcome the obstacles thrown in her path to prevent the past from repeating itself.

Can she learn to fly with her own wings and discover the secret to eternal love?

Mason Excerpt:
On cue, I spotted the lights headed in our direction. “Look,” I instructed her, pointing at the lights off in the distance. “Do you see them?” I felt her nod her head against my back as she peaked over my shoulder to spot them.
“Actually, here, you sit in front of me so that you can see better,” I said as I climbed off to allow her to scoot up. I took my spot behind her and looped my arms around her waist. I kissed the top of her head and inhaled her sweet scent. Her eyes were locked on the lights, wondering what was going to happen, but I felt her pressing her body against mine trying to snuggle up. I groaned aloud when she wiggled her ass against my growing cock, and she giggled. The little vixen knew exactly what she was doing.
We continued to track the lights in the sky as they grew closer. As the plane made it’s final descent for landing, I squeezed my arms around her tightly and leaned down to whisper in her ear. “I love you, Scarlett. Nothing will ever change that.”
Review:
If Euphoria (book 3) doesn’t come out soon I will just DIE! Seriously DIE!! Who knew I would love this series as much as I do. From the moment I read Metamorphosis (book 1) I was hooked! Book 2 has me hooked even deeper and now I have one hell of a book hangover. I get hangovers occasionally….not as much as I used to because I have started to realize more what I really want in a book and if something doesn’t have it, it just doesn’t havent it. Ambrosia is so far away from that it isn’t even funny. It is everything that I look for and probably even more. I just finished not even 5 minutes ago and had to write this review immediately!! Erin Noelle has ruined me for at least the next 2 weeks. In advance, I am sorry to any books I attempt to read during this time frame…my heart will think they suck even though I know my head will just tell me I am hungover, lol.

Where to be begin….for starters, If you havent read this series, you have no idea what yo are missing and need to get on it NOW!! If you don’t, you may start getting threatening text from your friends like that one I sent Ashley:

Me: If you don’t read Metamorphosis soon I will sneak into your house and cut holes in all of your underwear!

Ashley: Ok, Ok, Ok…I will read it, lol

Me: Your panties are at risk, so you better!!

I really just don’t know what to do with myself right now. I am at such a loss. I can’t believe it’s already over, yet I’m kind of glad because I don’t know how much more I could take! The angst in this series will give Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens a run for its money. At least in Thoughtless we all knew that we wanted Kiera to be with Kellan and not Denny. In this series, there is no possible way to decide!! Both guys are awesome and when they fuck up, there is a logical explanation. I just can’t choose!! There is no way at all. Maybe the final book (the one that will hopefully ease our minds on who Scarlett picks) could have like an alternate ending or something, lol. It can be like, read this book if you are team Mason and read this one if you are team Ash, lol. Of course, I am on both teams so I would just have to read them both…ahhh a girl can dream can’t she.

Anyway, this series is kick ass! It is steamy, emotional, raw and angsty. I promise you will not put it down. Erin Noelle is going on my top author list of the year and I’m pretty sure Ambrosia will make the cut for my 2013 favorite book list. Easily a 5 star read for me.

Review: There Is No Light in Darkness by Claire Contreras

Blake Brennan had a difficult introduction to life. She lives in a constant state of paranoia, believing that she is the reason those around her get hurt. Her feelings are tested when her past comes back to haunt her and she must choose whether she wants to continue to live in fear or let her heart love freely.

This is part one of a series and contains sexual content and explicit language.

Okay, so yea…I can’t breathe….but that’s okay. I just finished an awesome book that kept me wondering and still has me wondering, I don’t even want to write this review. I just want to jump into book 2 right now, but I know I can’t. I know if I don’t get my feelings about this book down now, I will really be messed up by the time I read book 2 and I just don’t know if I can handle that, lol.

This story…it’s just wow. Yea, it revolves around a sad story, and a dark subject, but there are so many other good things to it too. I can’t imagine even reading this book without the darkness; that would make it be just like everything else I have read and that would be boring. This is one of my favorites of the year….even with the gigantic cliffhanger!!! I hate them, hate them hate them!!! But, since book 2 is out, I have no fears; I know my book hanger will be healed as soon as I finish this review, lol.

The dark mystery behind this book is what engulfed me from the beginning. I had my moments when I felt like I knew something, but as things were slowly revealed, I was blown away. Knowing that the things I had no clue about blew me away really makes me think that when I find out what’s really going on I won’t even be able to function, lol it’s that intense.

I have read a few reviews and the readers didn’t like how the story line flowed and how some events were backwards. That really worked for me. It’s one of the things I really loved about the story. You would get bits and pieces and could try and put it together for yourself and then later on you would find out if your own theories were right. Not to mention the connection we got with the characters. A few readers didn’t connect with the characters as fast as others, me, I was drawn to them immediately.

There, I’ve done it. Now I can go on to book 2 with no regrets. I have expressed my thoughts and now I need to dive in! 5 stars.

Tour Stop: Bad Things by R.K. Lilley

Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.

She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Review:
This is my first read from R.K. Lilley so I wasn't prepared for the emotional roller coaster ride I was about to get on. I've heard really good things about her Up in the Air Series which this is a spin off of, but haven't had a chance to read them yet. After reading Bad Things, I think I will move her other books up on my TBR list.

Tristan and Danika, whew boy is there instant chemistry between these two. I mean you can literally feel the sexual tension while you read. I love that Danika knows what she wants and won't settle for less. Tristan is a walking talking play boy with charm and charisma and one hell of a temper. He doesn't do relationships and Danika won't do hookups, so they decide to just be friends. WELL.... what do you get when you have two best friends with so much chemistry and the sexual tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife....you get Bad Things or should I say really, really good things. I love the friendship that the two share, the way they just flow together like they've know each other forever. I love Tristan's friends and how they just make Danika one of the guys, with the exception of Dean, oh how I loathe him!! Even though Danika and Tristan have a great friendship as things progress they become so wonderfully dysfunctional that you just can't put the book down, it just sucks you in until your soaking it up and begging for more. I can't wait for more from their story, I'm so emotionally invested in this book it's like waiting for santa clause as a kid.

Book News: The Plagiarizing of Tammara Webber's Easy by Jordin B. Williams

Both Amazon and Barnes & Noble are both offering refunds for those who have purchased the book "Amazingly Broken" by Jordin B. Williams. The author has deleted her twitter page and all her post from her blog. She is accused of plagiarizing works by Tammara Webber and Jamie McGuire.

We did a promotional post for Jordin B Williams on June 22, but have since removed it. We have also searched all other surfaced names connected with Jordin Williams to make sure we are not leading our readers on and promoting stolen work.

Smardy Pants will not solicit or promote for anyone that is accused and proven of plagiarism. This is a big no no to us.

Please read the article "
The Plagiarizing of Tammara Webber's Easy by Jordin B. Williams" from the blog Dear Author for more insight into the scandal.

Thanks to author Teresa Mummert we have a list of potential names included in ths scandal and the research that was put into this discovery. Here is the official link, but I have also pasted below for you to read.

Plagiarism Plot Thickens
Jordin Williams was outed by DearAuthor.com for plagiarizing Jamie McGuire and Tammara Webber in his/her book Amazingly Broken. The story didn’t end there.

It was soon discovered by some very perceptive bloggers that Jordin had purchased ad space on blog sites. The name linked to the paypal account was James Bishop.

After a little more digging we noticed a few author profiles and books that seemed to be pimped by a small ring of authors. One of which was
Liz Thomas who wrote Rock her. This author had spammed nearly everyone on Goodreads at the time of her release and interestingly enough has a fondness for Amazingly Broken, as seen on her Goodreads profile. This author had also written another book called Finding Cassila with another author named….. *drum roll* Emily Curran. Emily had caught everyone’s attention with this novel because it had a similar cover to Easy by Tammara Webber ( see what is happening here) and a character with the last name Abernathy, just like in Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster (shocked yet?). Goodreaders started to notice when the book was listed under one of the author’s names on Amazon and the other on Goodreads. Here is their discussion on the topic.

A member of that discussion notices another author profile that seemed to be linked to those accounts,
Beth Klein. This person still has numerous books on Amazon (most of the other profiles had removed their books). So I checked out her facebook profile. Beth didn’t seem to use a stock image like the other profiles so I thought it was a dead end. I google searched her profile picture just to see. Shockingly, this is the image for a very well-known hair stylist named Mindy McKnight. I have tracked down her real profile and messaged her to let her know someone had been using her image. How does this connect back to the others? Beth Klein Pimped Rock Me on her profile very hard and hasn’t been back to facebook since. She has returned to goodreads to upvote positive reviews on a little book called Amazingly Broken, as did her other fake accounts. Also, Beth had co-written a book with Emma Buch called Introduction. The weird thing about Emma is she seems to like and upvote all of the same reviews as well. Emma Buch’s profile picture on Amazon also really belongs to Candy Collins!

Beth Klein as well as several other of the fake accounts belong to a group on Goodreads called
Sexy Romance. The only book read by this group was *drum roll* Amazingly Broken. They also plan to read Cherry Popper by K A Andrews. That is what brought that name to our attention.

The original jerk of this discussion, Jordin Bishop had an interesting bio that she has since removed from all sites, but
thanks to google they can still be found. Jordin Williams is a 26 year old ghostwriter turned author. She lives in Iowa and has always loved to sit down and read a good book. When she started ghostwriting books they would become popular even though she was never given any credit so she decided to write her own book, Amazingly Broken.

Now take a look at the
profile of K A Andrews on Goodreads.

About this author

I'm a ghostwriter turned author. Feel free to friend me on Facebook.

My mind = blown

*I have spoken to Mindy McKnight and she has verified the picture is her and she is NOT an author. It was stolen.

Thanks for sharing this with us Teresa!

About the Author:
Just a book reading, writing loving, mommy and USMC wife! :)

I love to write, even if it isn't what is conventional and makes everyone feel giddy inside. I usually pull from dreams, or ideas that just thrust themselves into my head. I have what some would describe as a dry sense of humor, and I think its conveyed in my writing. I like to think I am a kick ass chick, but I can also be sensitive. I'm learning to grow thick skin, and in this field, it is definitely needed!

I won't put anything out that I am not absolutely proud of, but like E.L. James said, "I can't own people's reactions to it." Thanks for reading my work... I do appreciate it!

Review:

Sooo, this lady----> Author Belle Aurora, <--- yea, that lady right there, she is hands down one of my all time favorite authors! I fell in LURVE (yes, this is a word, even if I did make it up) with her writing style when I read Friend-Zoned (Book # 1) and after reading Love Thy Neighbor (Friend-Zoned Book # 2), I don't think there is anything I won't read by her. Seriously, this chick has ROCKED MY SOCKS!! This book is so good that I can promise you I will definitely be reading it over and over again just so I can hang out with these crazy characters. 5/5 Stars for this lady!!!

After reading book one, I knew that I was going to love Asher (Ghost) and Nat's story. From the very beginning Asher has been one of my favorite characters. He is closed off and broody and he doesn't trust people. Oh, and Nat, how can you not love her smart mouth and sassy attitude. She's another who can put on a good front. These characters are easily relatable, you feel as though they are people you hangout with everyday. The banter, witty comebacks and shenanigans between them will have you dying with laughter. BUT, it's not all fun and games, this story will make your heart ache, fill you with love and joy and if you are like me, bring you to tears (I know sappy Susie over hear can't keep it together, lol) Basically, everything you need for an outstanding story is in this book. It's a fun flirty romance mixed with deep emotion and it touches on everyday issues. Things a normal couple would deal with and go thru, not some far fetched off the wall stuff that isn't even possible. This is real life or as real life as you can get and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait for more from this series and this Off The Charts Amazing Author!!!

Cover Reveal: Breaking the Rules by H.B. Heinzer

Blurb
Growing up in small town Wisconsin, Carly Turner couldn't wait to escape when she graduated high school. Now, she's living the life in New York City, even if she isn't seeing her name in lights like she used to dream about at night. She's living paycheck-to-paycheck, working behind the scenes in small theaters off Broadway. When there's an equipment malfunction the week before opening night, Carly makes a call that winds up changing everything.

Life in the city isn't all it's cracked up to be. While she feels like she's getting closer to making the move from behind the scenes to center stage, she misses being surrounded by people who understand the quirks that come from living in a town of five thousand people. That, and the fact that he's sexy as sin, make Adam everything she feels like she's missing.

The only problem? He's her best friend's kid brother...

Adam Sanders wants to settle down, find a good woman and start a family like he sees so many of his friends doing. But how is he supposed to meet Ms. Right when he's constantly on the road for work? When he's sent to New York to handle a repair that would typically be contracted out as a favor to his boss, he's just about to his breaking point.

Everything changes when the stagehand sent to open the theater for him is none other than his big sister's childhood friend. The same girl he lusted after as a teenager. Could this be fate's way of showing him that he was looking in the wrong place for love?

As Adam and Carly's friendship develops, lines will be crossed and rules will be broken. Will they be able to come out the other side without destroying everything they had back in Brooklyn?

Teaser
"Hello?" A deep voice resonated from backstage. The way the timbre of the man’s voice echoed off the acoustic panels in the empty theater sent a shiver down Carly’s spine. She was surrounded daily by men whose voices could melt butter, but there was something about this particular voice that heightened her senses.

"Out here," she shouted, still wrestling to pull the set piece out of the curtain without causing any damage Dax would make her fix later. She blew a stray hair away from her eyes as the lighting contractor rounded the corner.

When she looked up, she did a double-take. The broad shoulders and angled jaw were all new but there was no mistaking the icy blue eyes looking down at her. They were the same eyes she had seen nearly every day of her childhood. "Adam?"

"Carly Turner? What are the odds..."

When she had moved away from home, Adam Sanders had been a bit gangly and not nearly this tall. She figured he would have grown up to be the man a woman grew to love for his heart despite his awkward appearance. The fact that it looked like he wasn’t opposed to spending time in the gym and he had lost the child-like face did nothing to settle her nerves. Carly shook the thoughts out of her head. This was Adam, the boy who had been the little brother Carly never had. Even if she had never felt that familial bond with him, there was definitely a rule about drooling over your best friend's little brother.

"Well, I think they're probably long enough that there's no point in buying a lottery ticket tonight," Oh god, did I just compare seeing Adam to winning the lottery?

About the Author
With the exception of three years spent in the middle of Nebraska, H.B. Heinzer has called southern Wisconsin home. During that time in Nebraska, she imagined one of her favorite authors living on the far western edge of the county, just south of the highway. At the time, becoming a novelist was a distant dream for her. Now, she is the author living in that location. Ironically, she later found out that same favorite author lives just outside the town HB lived in for the first eighteen years of her life.
Now, HB lives in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to the city to not feel isolated. It's the perfect place to let her two kids run and explore their huge yard, teach them about the food chain as they prepare their first-ever garden and debate building a chicken coop. It's one of those dreams that is only possible thanks to the amazing opportunities that have come through writing.

SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!! It's finally here!!!!

Title: Come Alive
Author: Karina Halle
Release date: June 23, 2013
Genre: Romantic Suspense/Horror
Age Group: General adult 17 +

Blurb:
It’s one thing to bring the woman you love back into your life. It’s another to try and keep her there. For Dex Foray, convincing Perry Palomino to open herself to their burgeoning relationship has been more challenging than hunting ghosts, battling demons and stalking Sasquatch combined. Add in the fact that the only way they can keep their Experiment in Terror show running is to take on a third partner in the form of the mysterious Maximus Jacobs — all while investigating a sinister voodoo sect in New Orleans — and you’ve got the perfect Southern storm and a recipe for disaster. Luckily, Dex has never been one to back down, even when his life –and heart — are on the line.

Come Alive is told from Dex’s POV.

Excerpt:
I whipped around and pulled out the elevator’s STOP button. The elevator lurched then came still.

“What are you doing?” she screeched, wild-eyed.

“Nothing you need to worry about, baby,” I told her, placing both hands on either side of her head and kissing her hard, hard enough that she was flattened against the wall. We didn’t discuss it, but we naturally played our relationship cool in front of Jimmy. Now I was making up for lost time.

I bit her lower lip, pulling it between my teeth. She moaned and I smiled.
“You ever had sex in an elevator?” I asked, taking my mouth to her sweet neck and alternating between wet licks and fierce sucks. I didn’t care if she ended up with a million hickeys. The more the better.

“No.”

“Anywhere in public?”

“Does a Canadian national park count?” she whispered, sounding both turned-on and uneasy.

“No, it doesn’t,” I murmured, my hands cupping her breasts now. “Sounds like something we have to fix, doesn’t it?”

“Isn’t this illegal?”

I pulled away and looked at her. “Elevator malfunction. Living it up while I’m going down.”

She smiled and then arched her back to give me more access to her fantastic breasts. “You can’t use Aerosmith as an excuse.”

“I can do anything I want,” I grunted, pressing my erection into her hip.
“My goodness,” she exclaimed at the pressure.

I grinned, my hands folding down her bra and rolling her nipples between my fingers.

“I told you. I’m always hard for you, I’m just good at hiding it. Which, actually, isn’t easy when your dick is the size of your leg.”

She laughed and lowered my head to her breasts, my mouth yearning, searching.

“Hello?” a voice said from behind me.

Startled, I turned around, expecting someone in the elevator with us. I was probably expecting it to be inhuman as well.

But the voice repeated. “Hello? Are you okay? Is this car two? I have reports you have stopped.”

Shit. It was the security on the speaker. In some elevators, pulling out the stop button just stops the elevator. I guess in this one it alerted security. Cockblockers!

Review:
So how do you act after you finish a book by Karina Halle? You simply don’t. There is no possible explanation for what goes on with you body after you finish one of her books other than it goes into utter shock, withdraws and then the depression stages can begin, lol. No matter how hard many of us try to prepare ourselves for Karina’s books…. this still happens. Her books are my crack and my body doesn’t know how to function when I have finished one.

This is my number 1 of the year all around! It is the best read of the year and it has been my most anticipated book of the year. It has not taken the place of my favorite EIT book (Lying Season, Book 4) but it is still near and dear to my heart, as all of the others of the EIT series are. People that have not yet read the series will not understand the need for this book. If you have yet to read it, join in with us and grab Book 1, Darkhouse, it’s free….it’s always free!!

I really don’t want to give too much away, but there is no way for me to explain how I feel right now without giving some stuff away. I promise no major spoilers.

Ahhhh, finally some Dex and Perry time!! Just what we have alllll waited for! This is really what I thought I needed…but after getting it, I kind of missed the longing and back and forth between the two. Of course I want and need them to be together, but I swear I am a hypocrite; I kind of miss them being apart. The chase between the two of them was fun and I don’t know how my mind handles cuddly, lovey, dovey Perry and Dex, lol. I like horny, smart ass Dex.

Don’t get me wrong, we still get horny Dex. I mean major horny…he can’t keep his hands of Perry, but I feel like he lacked some of his smart ass, or maybe it was just over shadowed by the tremendous feelings he has for Perry.
I thought everyone should care that I fucked Perry last night and fucked her good. Perhaps I needed to get an airplane to write that in the sky. I knew an auburn-haired snatchslinger who needed to see it.

I was however pleased that Dex’s feeling toward Maximus hadn’t changed. That’s right….he is BACK! As I read that he was back all I could think of was "why can’t he just die!!!!!” And here comes the horror….by the end of the book I couldn’t believe that I had ever thought that. It’s like somehow, down the line, my heart developed a soft spot for ol’ ginger balls and I was kind of rooting for him….INSANE I KNOW!!!

EIT fans, you need to get on this book now!! Newcomers, hurry catch up! We have so much to talk about! I am always up for talking about my favorite series of all time! 5 stars.

Playlist:

There are not as many musical references in Come Alive as in the other EIT books, so I am going to incorporate it in with my review. Enjoy!

But I was singing to Dillinger Escape Plan, which negated all girlyness. It's true, I looked it up.

Sir Mix-A-Lot and I had a lot of things in common

The rest of the time I just sat back and listened to the new Slayer album, feeling more connected to Perry by listening to her favorite music.

I guess there was a romantic, girly-girl somewhere beneath that Mastodon t-shirt.

"Because President Bush don't care about black people," she deadpanned in a Kanye West impression.

"I can do the mambo," I said. "Mambo Number Five." Perry let out a derisive laugh. "Thanks, I just got that song out of my head."

I looked at the guitarist and said "Hit it, boys." They sprang into a sparse but soulful rendition of Otis Redding's "That's How Strong My Love Is."

And Slayer's "Dead Skin Mask" came blaring out of the speakers, as if we were listening to that song at high volume just before the truck died.

She was wearing jeans, chucks and a Faith No More shirt she'd cut into a tank top.

A Foo Fighters song came on in the bar and Rebecca got up. "Care to dance with me, Dex?" she asked, batting her eyes. She looked to Perry. "You're next, by the way."

On another side note, anyone that knows me knows my number 1 band of all time is the Foo Fighters. So this below from Karina Halle just makes my day!! Squeee!!!!
Karina says--Inspiration: Like I do with most books, this is named after a song. These lyrics from the Foo Fighters “Come Live” really resonate for me:
Nothing more to give
I can finally come alive
Your life into me
I can finally breathe
Come alive

I lay there in the dark
Open my eyes
You saved me the day that you came alive

About the Author:
The daughter of a Norwegian Viking and a Finnish Moomin, Karina Halle grew up in Vancouver, Canada with trolls and eternal darkness on the brain. This soon turned into a love of all things that go bump in the night and a rather sadistic appreciation for freaking people out. Like many of the flawed characters she writes, Karina never knew where to find herself and has dabbled in acting, make-up artistry, film production, screenwriting, photography, travel writing and music journalism. She eventually found herself in the pages of the very novels she wrote (if only she had looked there to begin with).

Karina holds a screenwriting degree from Vancouver Film School and a Bachelor of Journalism from TRU. Her travel writing, music reviews/interviews and photography have appeared in publications such as Consequence of Sound, Mxdwn and GoNomad Travel Guides. She currently lives on an island on the coast of British Columbia where she's preparing for the zombie apocalypse.
