Review: The Forever of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

There are some authors that you always just come back for more. Jessica Sorensen is one of those authors for me. I like to think I have been with her since the beginning. I have read all of her books, even before she was published. I would tell people about her and they would be like Jessica who? I eagerly await any new release that she has. I have always seen pure talent in her writing. She leaves me wanting and needing more in every one of her books.

The Secret of Ella and Micha left us desperately wanting more. The Forever of Ella and Micha closed all of those doors. I was utterly satisfied with every chain of events that happened, other than the one time when I may have sent Ashley threatening text about Ella, lol. I was pretty much breathless by the end. Now, don’t let the name fool you, yes forever is in the title, but they have a lot of work cut out for them to get there.

I never looked far enough into the future to realize that maybe one day Micha and I may not be together. A forever? Does such a thing exist?

At first when I started the book, I was a bit worried. I was scared that we may be forced to read yet another cliché. Ella is back in school and now Micha is on the road with his band. The insecurities between both start up almost immediately. I just knew the whole book would be back and forth… he doesn’t love me, she is cheating on me….whew, I am so glad I was wrong! Even though that is part of the book, it is not the basis and over fairly quickly. So if you are like me and feel like this will ruin everything you love about Ella and Micha, fear not and keep reading.

Micha
Remember the love we had for Micha in book 1. I feel he made my heart grow 1,000 times more in book 2. I had no idea I could love him anymore. I even dreamed about him last night! His patience with Ella’s demons really what gets to me. No man in the world can be as patient as Micha. Ella is so up and down. One minute she loves him and is like put it in….the next she is like we can’t do that anymore lets me friends. But that doesn’t stop him. He knows she is the one and only girl for him and always has been. Remember what he said in book 1? All of the other girls were just too keep him occupied until she finally realized what she wanted. He keeps true to that. Since he has Ella now, even through their ups and downs there is never a moment when he thinks he will just find someone else. He wants to make this work. He needs to make this work. Ella needs it to, she just takes a little longer to realize.
Ella

Ella is it for me. The way I feel about her is never going to change. I will love her forever, but I need her closer to me, not thousands of miles away. How am I supposed to tell her, though that I’m ready to begin her future, when I know she has no clue what her future is yet?

On a side note. I love the new covers for the series, but I won’t lie. I loved the old cover of book 1 much better. Who else is with me?

5 stars all the way.

Oh, and let's not forget the best friends Ethan and Lila who have their very own book coming out later this year.

Review:
I really don't know how I should feel right now....should I cry my eyes out because it's over and I have to wait until May/June for the next book, or should I be happy and content that I got a little bit of a Dex fix to help hold over my addiction? I'm going with crying, lol. I can't believe its already over....and that it was that fast! I swear, I need to learn how to read slower and savor a little more than I do. If I did, I wouldn't be in this predicament!

Honestly, I really don't know how to control myself when it comes to Dex. He's....well....he's DEX! Anyone that has read this series, knows what I'm talking about. There is just no getting around the obsession that is Dex. This novella just makes the obsession 10 times worse! From chapter 1 my heart was breaking for Dex. He is 10 times more swoon-worthy because of this novella.

I'm not going to go into much of what the book is exactly about, we have all read the series so you know what it's about, this is just all the view of the master mind himself.

The book starts the day after Perry left Seattle. We experience the turmoil that Dex went through. We get to find out exactly how much of a bitch Jen really is (even though we kind of already knew), we see what a great friend Rachel is and learn about how Dex becomes the new hotter version of Dex that we meet in Into the Hollow (ahhhh, just thinking about it....yummy!!). Oh, and we get his thoughts on the whole Perry Maximus thing---flannel coated pussy stealer.

This was the perfect book to hold me over until the next book of the series. Really, if you are in a Dex funk and need a Dex fix now....get it! Don't hold back. Let your heart break just a little more for Dex and then fall in love with him all over again.

Oh, and let's not forget my favorite part.

Perry had slept with Maximus. He stuck his dick in her. I was going to be sick. I was going to cry. Oh, wait. No, I was going to BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF HIM!

Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia

Really, REALLY loved this book! I am having a very hard time not thinking about it. It’s all I can think about since I finished; I know this one is going to stick with me for a while. I got so many different feelings off of this book. I told Ashley it reminds me of How to Kill a Rock Star (minus the rock star, lol), Crow’s Row and one of the characters reminded me a lot of Xhex from Black Dagger Brotherhood. These are all some of my favorite books, so you know that means this is now one of my favorites!

There are many different characters in the book and we get to read about all of their stories and find out how they all kind of cross paths. I loved that about the story, just when I thought one character would be my favorite another would take the spot light. Each story is beautiful in itself. There are 3 couples in the book, but there are also other special characters on the side. Each person is what makes the book so breathtakingly beautiful. There is a lesson to learn from everyone. The reader gets a deep connection to almost every character. We get to look into their mind and memories. We following along with their personal struggles and with that I built a strong connection to every character.

This book is beautiful. It’s humorous. It’s touching and it’s heart breaking. There are some feelings that I got while reading Poughkeepsie that I can’t even describe. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

This is bound to be a long review. There is so much going on in the book and so many things I want to tell you, I will just have to do my best to reel it in, lol.

Livia takes the train everyday to her university. She always acknowledges everyone at the train station, even the young homeless guy that always sits alone in the same spot. Everyone else acts like he doesn’t exist, Livia treats him the same as she would treat everyone else.

His green eyes seemed to wait for her without fail, but as soon as the smile reached her lips, his gaze scurried away like a frightened mouse. He hardly looked at anyone, and never asked for money.

Not everyone is as kind as Livia. Some people pick on Blake and Livia decides that she is going to take up for him. This is how Livia and Blake become acquainted. After meeting Blake and seeing how wonderful he really is, Livia starts coming to the station earlier and earlier everyday to see him.

As they spend more time together Livia starts to learn that some things are a little off about Blake.

I’m an idiot – of course he’s broken. He must be so very broken.

Livia looks past his issues. They are nothing that would cause harm to her. Blake is aware of his issues too, he doesn’t try to hide them from her.

“Livia, I have problems – things that make me undesirable, not viable, dangerous, unlovable.”

“Who told you those ugly words? I can’t… you can’t believe that.” She reached for his hand. Who would say those things to a child?

“If you hear it enough, and people’s actions support those words…” Blake shrugged.

Livia takes off from school one day to see what a day with Blake would be like. He takes her to meet his brothers. Blake met his brothers as a child while they were in foster care. They bonded and went through things a child should never have to endure. Blake’s brothers are not homeless, like him though. They each took different paths when they aged out of the system.

Beckett (my favorite brother) became a criminal. He aged out first and decided then that he would do whatever he had to do to make sure his brothers were safe and taken care of when they aged out. He is willing to do anything for his brothers, he just doesn’t always go about the right way doing it.

“Beckett’s probably the hardest man there is to love,” Blake said. “He does life wrong for all the right reasons.”

Cole found his place in the church. He lives there and is in training to be a priest one day. Cole was the hardest for me to like. I feel like he came on a bit strong to Livia. I know he is looking out for Blake, but my thing was he is trying to be a priest, he shouldn’t have been so quick to judge.

Cole looked at her with troubled brown eyes. “Livia, if I may be so bold, he’s going to take your kindness very seriously. If you’re playing a game, or trying to get even with a boyfriend by dating the worse thing you could find – ”
Livia held up one hand to stop him. “With all due respect, never, ever refer to Blake as ‘the worst thing’”

To Livia’s surprise, Cole almost smiled.

Beckett and Cole watch over Blake and always make sure he is safe. Blake will take nothing from anyone that he hasn’t earned, but they know how to make sure he always has what he needs.

Then there is Mouse, I can’t forget Mouse. I probably learned the most from him and his beautiful heart. He isn’t technically a brother, but he earns his role in the world of the brothers faithfully and by being dedicated. Mouse….it still hurts me to think about him….

There were times as I was reading that I was like let’s get back to Blake and Livia!!! But through the eyes of the others we learn so much about Blake and his past as well as his future and the man he is to become. The book would not have been the same without all of the other characters. I needed the other characters to be part of the story. I actually needed the other characters to have their own book, that’s how much I loved everyone…..guess what…. I’m getting my wish! I saw online today that the next book will be about Beckett!!! Bad news….we have to wait until 12/30/13!!!

If you haven’t read Poughkeepsie, skip this, lol

Return to Poughkeepsie- 12/30/13

Eve should be starting over. Cleansed free of her criminal activities, she should be getting married. Instead she works in a dive and craves Beckett like addictive poison.

The heart pounding continuation of Poughkeepsie centers around the two worst felons. Cracking their hard outer shell might just reveal that pain was the only thing that held them together in the first place.

Okay, so after this very long review (I swear, there is still so much more to know about the book than what I have written!) I hope you decide to read it. I am seriously addicted to it. I am craving to know more about the crew from Poughkeepsie. There is so much beauty hidden in the ugly of Poughkeepsie. PLEASE read it!

5 stars.

Once known as the high school weirdo, Camden is bigger and badder than the boy he used to be and a talented tattoo artist with his own thriving business. Ellie’s counting on Camden still being in love with her but what she’s not counting on is how easily unrequited love can turn into obsession over time. When Camden discovers Ellie’s plan to con him, he makes her a deal she doesn’t dare refuse, but her freedom comes with a price and it’s one that takes both Ellie and Camden down a dangerous road.

Review:
When it comes to Karina Halle I am a total fangirl. I know I get a giddy about a lot of authors, but when it comes down to my favorite, Karina is it for me! Being a part of this tour was a huge deal to me.

Sins & Needles is remarkable! As with all of Karina’s books, I was hooked from line 1. I can’t explain it….something about her writing style is just so phenomenal. Her stories are always fresh, like nothing I have ever read before. The actions of the characters are so put together, it flows perfectly and everything that happens in the books is for a reason. It’s not like oh hey, let’s get a tattoo together…everything that happens, happens for a reason.

Ellie Watt is always on the run. She is a con artist if I never heard of one, lol. She always keeps a spare life in her trunk. Spare clothes, driver’s license social security cards…you name it, she has it. Her most recent con sends her running back to the place she has tried to avoid for so many years, and she is finally herself again.

I was Ellie Watt again. I was finally me. Oh, joy.

The life that Ellie is living is one she has known her whole life. He parents were cons and they taught her how to be one too. You are what you see, right? A con gone bad when she was a child makes her the way she is today. Always weary of wearing shorts and never a skirt. It jeans and shit kickers for Ellie.

After her most recent job gone wrong, she is convinced that was the last time…..that is until opportunity comes knocking on her door. She runs into an old friend from high school---enter Camden! He is not what she remembers. The Camden she knew was a Marilyn Manson wannabe, this guy is a tattooed and pierced sex on a stick kind of guy.

After getting reacquainted with Camden, Ellie has the one thought that she shouldn’t…

How much cash could I take from him before I hate myself…

Uhggg, Ellie! How can you do this! How! I mean really! Just look at Camden…look at how sweet is he is to you! Look at how well he does other things to you!!

Ok, vent over, lol. As you know from the synopsis, Camden catches Ellie in the act….he makes her a deal she has no choice but to accept and now they are both on a dangerous road together. So, can Ellie trust Camden after knowing he has been playing her the entire time simply because he wanted to get back at her for something did in high school…..can Camden trust Ellie after she tried to rob him blind? I guess you will just have to read and find out!

Vain by Fisher Amelie

Speechless…. This was just a beautiful book up and down. It is deep and moving; such a powerful journey. I read all day yesterday because I didn’t want to put it down. If my review and my feelings about the book don’t draw you in, I know the synopsis will:

If you’re looking for a story about a good, humble girl, who’s been hurt by someone she thought she could trust, only to find out she’s not as vulnerable as she thought she was and discovers an empowering side of herself that falls in love with the guy who helps her find that self, blah, blah, blah...then you’re gonna’ hate my story.

Because mine is not the story you read every time you bend back the cover of the latest trend novel. It’s not the “I can do anything, now that I’ve found you/I’m misunderstood but one day you’ll find me irresistible because of it” tale. Why? Because, if I was being honest with you, I’m a complete witch. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a friend using, drug abusing, sex addict from Los Angeles. I’m every girlfriend’s worst nightmare and every boy’s fantasy.

I’m Sophie Price...And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most envied girl to the girl no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

When Sophie describes herself as irresistible, she isn’t lying. She is the true definition if vain.

You see, I’m one of the beautiful people. That truly sounds so odd to have to explain, but it’s the truth nonetheless. I’m beautiful, and it’s not because I have a healthy does of self-esteem, though I have plenty of that. It’s obvious in the way I look in the mirror, yes, but even more obvious in the way everyone treats me. I rule this roost because I’m the most wanted by all the guys, and all the girls want to be my friend because of it.

Sophie is a party girl. She has parents that are filthy rich and work obsessed. They pay her no attention. All she wants to do is break the circle, be something other than a rich snob.

“I don’t want to be like them,” I candidly admitted as much to myself as to him.

Her friend Spencer doesn’t think there is a way out of it. He is just as closed minded as all of the others that she has been forced to be friends with. I had a little hope for Spencer, I thought maybe, just maybe he was going to be the one that was different that Sophie’s other friends, but I was wrong.

“The only difference between us and our parents is that we’re younger, we do coke while they drink, but we’ll graduate or simmer to that, depending on how you look at it, as they did. We’re not married but soon we will be and to each other, but it won’t matter because we’ll trade partners like we do now. We’re addicted to the lifestyle. I can’t see a way out of that.”

But Sophie gets her chance, it may not be by her own choice, but she is given a chance when instead of going to jail for drug possession, she is forced to work at an orphanage in Uganda.

Sophie is terrified, as she should be. She is going somewhere she has never gone before, to do something that is completely selfless…an act I don’t think she is capable of until now.

When she arrives in Uganda she is picked up by Ian and is drawn to him from the get go. She doesn’t understand her attraction to him; he is everything opposite of what she normally goes for. I think what really got to her was the fact that he could see right through her. He wasn’t having any of her spoiled shit and immediately judged her based on the reason she was forced to work at the orphanage.

I LOVED IAN!!! He was blunt, hardworking and GORGEOUS! What more could you ask for, lol.

And for her work in the orphanage…it tore my heart out! I know stuff like this goes on in the world, but it’s not something that we see on a regular basis, so I am as guilty as the next person when I say that I don’t often think about it.

Remember how in the past few months people have been talking about Kony on the news and all over the web? Well, he has a part in the book. The orphanage that Sophie is working at houses the children that his army left behind. THIS BROKE ME! The innocence of the children, yet they still had a positive outlook on life and had genuine happiness. I can’t even describe the emotion that went through me each time they can into contact with the children. It was powerful and meaningful, just like the entire story behind the book.

Sophie and Ian's relationship builds over the book. They have to work together to protect the children. Their connection grows strong and stronger and Ian comes to realize that Sophie may not be as bad as he though. She was lost and made a few bad choices, but he is starting to see how smart and strong she is....he tries to hide his feelings for her. When he finally lets it slip, there is no going back.

This book took me over. It is something that I will never forget and will always be on the top of my recommendation list.

Me: OMG, I loved Vain so much!!!
Ashley: You finished already??
Me: Yeah, I couldn’t put it down. Gahh, it was so good. I can’t wait for you to read it. Fisher never disappoints.

As I review more and more books I am finding it harder and harder to give 5 stars. This book, without a doubt in my mind, is worthy of all 5 stars.

The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden (The Coincidence #1) by Jessica Sorensen

Astounding! Bewildering!! Breathtaking!!! Extraordinary!!!! STUUUUPENDOUS!!!!!

Jessica Sorensen's books keep getting better and better. I started off on my Jessica Sorensen binge with The Fallen Star series, and have moved on to everything else she has ever written. When I read Ember, I was like this is it! This is the best...but then I read The Secret of Ella and Micha and was like no wait...THIS is it! But....now I have read The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden and all I have to say for myself if THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE BEST ONE EVER!

I finished this book 2 days ago and I am still thinking about it! It's like, I forgot that I finished. I was doing a little cleaning and was like "wow, I need to hurry so I can get back to Callie & Kayden..." then the sadness hit me when I realized that I was already finished! I'm going through some major withdraws. I haven't missed a book this much in a long time.

"The thing I regret-will always regret-is going into my room on my twelfth birthday"

Callie's life was stolen from her on her 12th birthday. What used to be a fun loving girl, turns into someone that tries to hide from the world under dark, baggy clothing, heavy and heavy makeup. She tries to purge all of the darkness from her body by forcing herself to become almost anorexic. She leaves home for college way before she has to only to get away from all of the madness of the life she lost. She trust no one but her best friend Seth.

I love him because he's the first person I felt comfortable enough to tell my secrets to, but maybe that's because he understands what it's like to be hurt inside and out.

Seth and Callie create a list to try and help each other become the people they should have been, had their lives not been stolen from them.

"Just because it's on the list, doesn't mean it will happen," I say as he stands up and marches to the board on the back of the door where our list is written. "Yes, it does, Callie." He grins, flipping the cap off the pen with his thumb. "Because it's a magical list, full of possibilities." "I wish that were true." I stare out the window at the people flooding the campus yard. "I really do."

Kayden life has also kind of sucked. Not in the same way as Callie, but still, it sucked. He has always had to live in silence and fear of doing something wrong and pissing that person off. At least until that night 4 months ago when Callie happened to be in the right place and the right time and she did something that no one else would have ever done, she saved Kayden.

All Kayden can do is think about that night and why she did he. He wants nothing more than to speak with her but he never sees her again...at least until he goes off to college and then he can't believe its her. Something is different, she is wearing a red shirt and laughing with a guy. He attempts to make friends with Callie, but the closer they get the farther away she becomes.

"In the exsistence of our lives, there is a single coincidence that brings us together and for a moment, our hearts beat as one."

I will warn you, there is a pretty deep cliff hanger at the end, but still so worth the read! Don't be scared of the cliffhanger, just jump in full throttle and fall in love with Callie and Kayden and don't forget to love Seth and Luke some too!

And, I'm happy to add this note from Jessica Sorensen:

I’ve been getting asked if there will be a sequel to The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden and the answer is yes! I have it up on Goodreads as Untitled. Over the weekend I’ll work on the title, the blurb, expected release date, and the first chapter, that way you guys can have some info and a little snippet of Callie and Kayden to read. I’ll be working on this story next and as most of you guys know, I write very quickly :)

There’s also going to be another book in this series, but from one of the secondary characters. I’ll announce who a little later.

Bound Together by Marie Coulson Tour Stop & Giveaway!

Why did this book have to fuck with my emotions so much!? I mean really Marie, did you have to do that to me, lol.

Bound Together is filled with many angsty moments and loads of steamy scenes. But don't go getting all pervy on me, lol it's also filled with lots of love and many moments that are epicly swoon worthy. This book left me sitting on the edge of the couch so many times, it's not even funny. One minute I wanted this to happen, the next I wanted something else to happen. By the end of the book I was so emotionally involved, I was just as torn as the characters in the book.

Layla Jennings always played by the rules. She is a pretty good girl, with a strong back bone and a sharp tongue. She has been in love once, or at least she thought she was in love until the bastard cheated on her. She leaves home for the first time to start college and her sweet, simple world is turned upside down (OK, to be honest he world becomes a fucking mess).

She is worried about everything. Mel, her best friend knows her in and out and knows what she likes and what she doesn't. What if she gets stuck in a room with a crazy, preppy cheerleader. She knows most of the time you don't become best friends with your college roommate....but that will soon become the least of her worries as she falls flat on her ass after crashing into the ever so hot Oliver.

Oliver is in a local band (YES! That's right a band!! You all know how much I love my musicians!). He is gorgeous, sweet and pierced (yumm!!) and will be living in the dorm directly across the hall from Layla---ahhh couldn't be any better!!

After meeting Ollie, Layla meets her roommate who happens to be opposite of her and everything she is not, but still turns out to not be so bad. She talks Layla into joining her for coffee and that small life event of having coffee with her new college roommate is what is the start of events that will send Layla's life into a spiral of good, bad and ugly events.

Layla needs a job and Amy (her roommate) convinces her to apply for a job at the coffee shop (see, I told you..the start of the crazy events). Once she starts the job at the coffee job she meets the delicious Jared Garrett. Jarred is hot but Layla knows she shouldn't consider giving him the time of day. The way the actually meet is not on the best of terms and she is convinced that he is an asshole. But she just can't seem to resist  the smooth talking, passionate Jared Garrett.

Layla is pushed to her limit so many times in this book. She is faced with more decisions and heart aches than any 19 year old should ever have to deal with. College is supposed to be fun, not spent holed up in your dorm room trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with you or crying your eyes out all the time.

This book, my friends, is going on the What to Read After Fifty Shades of Grey list (nuff said, lol). Oh, and you know that whole Team Edward, Team Jacobs crap the rest of the world is talking about? Well get ready for you own personal hell of chosing if you will be on Team Ollie or Team Jarred....me...I'm Team Ollie all the way :)

“...Love is easy, falling in love is even easier, but letting that love go, is the most difficult thing you’ll ever have to do. Some of us never let it go and sometimes it takes a while to realize what you want. But your heart will always have the right answer in the end. You just have to figure out what it’s telling you.”

Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

Okay, let me start off by saying....I. LOVE. ALICE. CLAYTON...She is a woman after my own dirty, perverted heart!! She is Brilliant, Hilarious, Witty, Amazing, Etc.... the list goes on and on. This is my first read by her, but will NOT be my last. Seems I've been missing out on all the awesomeness that is Alice Clayton. Now on to the book itself. It's hot, steamy, sexy, romantic, funny, Fan-freaking-tastic and did I mention HOT and STEAMY!!! I couldn't put this book down, I was captivated from the very first "OH, GOD." Thump. "Oh, God." Thump thump. What the... "Oh, God, that's so good!" Yes, ladies those thumps are from the neighbor and he is bringing it home as Alice so cleverly puts it!

Caroline has just moved in to her boss's old apartment, it's a dream apartment in a great location and the rent is so cheap she would have been crazy not to accept the offer. Everything in her life is going great, she has her dream job for the best boss ever and two of the best friends a girl could as for, the only thing missing in her life is her "O"...yes, the BIG "O".....it's been missing for months and nothing she does is bringing it back.

"I'd been on a bit of a dry spell for a while. A very long while. Bad, rapid-fire sex and an ill-timed one-night stand had robbed me of my orgasm. She'd been on vacation for six months now. Six long months."

Caroline is frustrated and irritated and has tried everything, but "O" is M.I.A. She has decided that she is going to forever remain O-less. On her first night in the apartment, just as she settles in for the night she hears.....screaming and wait....was that a thump....yes it was and it's a continuous thumping, so hard it knocks the picture above her bed off the wall causing it to land on her head. She has to endure this torture night after night, from spanking to meowing (yes, you read it right, I said meowing) to giggling and ALL THAT THUMPING she has had enough, she storms across the hall to confront him.
Caroline is stunned speechless when her neighbor, Simon opens the door wearing nothing but a sheet and smirking at her. OMG..... " I gazed down his long, lean body. He was tan, but not a premeditated tan-outdoorsy tan, weathered tan, manly tan. His chest rose and fell as he panted, his skin coated in a thin sheen of sex sweat. As my eyes traveled down further I say a smattering of dark hair low on his torso, which led below the sheet. Below the six pack, below that V that some men have, and which on him didn't look weird or bowflexed."

After she snaps back to reality they have it out in the hallway, both deciding they don't like each other. After successfully avoiding each other for a few weeks, they have a run in at a party and are forced together by their friends. Seeing as they have no way around having to endure each other's presence they call a "truce" and oh boy what a truce it is.....

I'm stopping the review their because I don't want to give anymore away. I want you to experience this for yourself. Wallbanger is a book that I will be reading again and again and again!!

The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

The Edge of Never

I’ve never been on a bus trip and I’ve always been scared to.

A friend of mine had a scarring experience and I thought I decided that I would never take a bus trip, lol. She was taking a trip from North Carolina to Missouri. She thought it would be a fun adventure to take a bus instead of a plane. First off, it took over 3 days straight to get there so she was exhausted. Next, she struggled with her luggage and decided that she didn’t need it anymore after about a day and a half and was just going to buy all new stuff when she got to MO, finally they stopped somewhere to pick up new passengers, 5 guys dressed in black slacks, white shirts and ties got on carrying bibles. She thought maybe they were Mormons. One of the guys sat next to her and she talked to him for 5 hours straight, and even shared her lunch with him. They talked about everything from where she was from, to where she was going and what her FULL name was….come to find out when they were getting off the 5 guys were inmates and they were being transferred to work somewhere for the prison! OMG! That broke me, lol

But, after reading The Edge of Never, I think I may have changed my mind. Yes, our heroine had a few rough experiences on her bus trip, but the overall advantage to the trip is what got me. She was fearless, she just up and got on a bus on day and left town not knowing where she was going. She met some interesting people, saw interesting things and had a complete life changing experience all at the age of 20. Yes, I think I do want to take that bus trip one day, as long as I end up meeting someone like Andrew (well, maybe about 7 years ago, lol before I met my husband, but you get what I’m saying, hypothetical, lol).

Yes, this is a book for dreamers.

I dream about things that really matter. At least in my world, they matter. What the air in other countries feels like on my skin, how the ocean smells, why the sound of rain makes me gasp. “You’re one deep chick.” That’s what Damon said to me on more than one occasion.

It is beautiful, formidable, engaging…..just subliminal! It is so deep and emotional and truly eye opening.

This is your life, Camryn Bennett. This is your life.

I have been trying my hardest to get EVERYONE to read it! I have posted it on FB and sent mass text messages to my reader friends, lol. I was on alert while reading though, I don’t always like it when something sneaks up on me and everyone has been saying that is book is kind of sad, or at least emotional….

Me: You’re gonna love The Edge of Never.
Ashley: Is it sad? Someone said they were emotional because of it.
Me: No, not yet at least and I’m halfway through. It’s beautiful and philosophical. It’s a dreamers book for sure.
Ashley: Ahhh yes! I will love it!!
Me: I love it. It hasn’t been that emotional for me, not like make me cry or even want to cry. It’s just…great, I can’t explain it, lol
Me: But, it has made me be like, what is my purpose in life, lol
Ashley: Oh, lord. You know your prupose is to help people because you do it all the time J
Me: lol, maybe

Annnddd then…..

Me: I’m at 72%, not really any sadness yet but my heart is pounding.

Then a little while later….

Me: I’m scared…..it might be sad….

Then, I refused to give Ashley anymore! Lol

Me: Please, Please, Please read it!!!!!

Camryn always knew that she would be different from everyone else. She knew that she wouldn’t live a repetitive life an end up in a dead in job. She had her life planed out and was getting ready to move in with her best friend until honesty stabbed her in the back and her life is thrown off course.

What is it with everyone and their willingness to follow?

She is going to push forward and get over it along with all of the other road blocks she has hit in her life. She sets on a journey to find herself. She just up and gets on a bus and leaves town without telling anyone, no warning, no destination. She makes her choice based on a baked potato (lol).

She starts to realize that no matter how far she travels that every state is the same. There is always that 1 lone sneaker on the side of the road….the same faces everywhere…. the only thing that changes are the license plates.

Then comes Andrew….only then does she start to realize that it is what you make it. Every state doesn’t have to be the same as long as you look at it from another perspective. Andrew is different, and he draws her in. She can’t get enough of him even though he is a stranger to her and she knows that she shouldn’t let anyone else in. She has never let her guard down like this. Andrew teachers Camryn how to live for the moment and she finds herself doing all kinds of things she would have never normally done.

But Andrew also has a secret that puts a whole new perspective on the time that they share together…..

READ IT!! READ IT! Call me! I’ll read it to you! Lol, just read it. Don’t let this one pass you by. It’s a no strings attached commitment, it’s not a series, it’s stand alone. Take a little bit of time out of your life and get to know Camryn and Andrew, I promise you won’t regret it, I’m sure you will find yourself wanting more.

Into the Hollow (Experiment in Terror # 6) by Karina Halle

 Into the Hollow

I have a lot of book addictions, I didn't think I could possibly handle anymore, but damnit if EIT has not taken over my life!! I started the series last month and have been completely engulfed in the story since.

Let's just say the Into the Hollow did not disappoint. It was everything I hoped and totally helped out with my MAJOR Dex funk. I swear, I have been in the funk for a few weeks, nothing can take the place of EIT, nothing comes close. I have read several books between EIT #5 and EIT #6 and have just been skimming through them to finish. Nothing holds a candle to EIT. I have been broken for all other books and YOU did this to me Karina!!

You know how we see the badges all over that say things like "Yes, I know he's not real..." and "I'm in love with a fictional character..." I think we need to make one that says "Yes, I know she isn't real, but I'm about the beat this idiot's ass!" That was exactly how I felt at one point in this book. I didn't think it was possible for me to hate anyone more than I hated Kiera (From Thoughtless) but I'll be damned if I didn't want to kick some Perry Palomino ass!!

Megan- OMG - how are you liking it so far?!? I finished it yesterday!

Dex
Me-  DYING inside lol. I am almost finished. About 75%. I just started this afternoon. I can't put it down. I am ALL about some Dex!

Megan- Let me know when you're at the 80% mark. You'll know it. I want your reaction.

Melissa- Oh no! lol okay

Needless to say, I was TERRIFIED!!! I know something can and WILL always go wrong!! BUT, keep in mind, that may not always be the case, so I won't let you in on mine and Megan's reaction to 80%, lol just know that there may or may not be some disturbing, threatening comments on goodreads, lol.

My love hate relationship with Dex and Perry has been confirmed for some time now, this book just intensified my love and hate. So, where to start with what the book is about.....without giving too much away....

It's Dex and Perry together again at last!!!! But not really like you think, I mean really, could you forgive someone that broke your heart like that? (hehe, which one am I referring too, they kinda broke each other).

I closed my eyes and a warm tear ran slowly down my cheek.

“Perry,” he said again, softer. His fingers tightened. “Baby, please.”

That word was like a nail into my chest. My reaction was instinctive.

I whirled around at him, my eyes aflame and throwing as much venom as possible.

“You don’t get to call me that anymore,” I spat at him. “I am not that to you. I never was.”

But to make a long story short and to allow you the bonding experience of Dex and Perry again, I'm just gonna say, it's Dex and Perry again....and they're doing what???? Trying their hand at EIT again, of course! Sasquatch is on the loose, lol. He has been sighted in Canada and Perry is feeling kinda safe about it because he's not real, right? I mean, no demons, no ghost, should be smooth sailing...
except everything is against them, as always. Horrible weather, crazy man with a gun and rambling hands....llamas getting their heads sliced off....YIKES!!

Oh, and of course Dex has to go and steal my heart even more--multiple times. I swear, I can hardly breathe. I miss them both so much already!! I love Dex and Perry too! I want to BE Perry, lol well maybe let's skip on the almost getting killed all the time...but you know what I mean.

EIT---always a 5 star from me!

annnnddd here is some good news from Karina:

Good news - I made it to the semi-finals of the GoodReads Awards for Best Horror 2012. I thank you for your support...seems competition is stiffer now...they added in more books! The GREATER news is that IF I make to the finals, I am releasing another Dex-Files called: "And With Madness Comes the Light" - SO, because there's no better incentive to vote than more Dex, let's help me get there! Vote, get your friends to vote, do what you can!! Let's do this :) http://www.goodreads.com/choiceawards/best-horror-books-2012#74609-Best-Horror
