Charade by Nyrae Dawn
Okay guys get your tissue's ready because parts of this book will just break your heart. This is my first read by Nyrae Dawn and I have to say that I will definitely be reading everything else she has written. This story will have you hooked from word one and keep you hooked the whole way through. This is the story of Cheyenne, a troubled nineteen year old college freshman and Colt, a twenty-one year who has more responsibility than most adults.
Cheyenne has just started college, she followed her boyfriend of two years to a new school where the only person she knows is him. The problem with this is he has been there for a year, he has friends and fraternity brothers and a red head that's been keeping his bed warm while she finished high school. Cheyenne is hurt that Gregory would cheat on her, she had her life planned out and they were going to get married and everything would be perfect, she needed everything to be perfect. To get back at him for hurting her she enlists the help of Colt. She offers to pay him to be her boyfriend for two weeks just to show Gregory that she doesn't need him and she will be okay on her own.
Colt has enough problems of his own trying to take care of his dying mother and fulfilling her wish that he graduate from college, so he doesn't need Cheyenne to add to those problems, but he is in serious need of some cash, plus he HATES Gregory and sticking it to that prick is worth the headache. After spending some time with Cheyenne he realizes that he has misjudged her, she isn't the little princess he thought she was, she has secrets of her own that torture her everyday and he will do anything to protect her. Colt and Cheyenne have a hard road, can they help each other overcome their issues or will the pressure be to much?
