I really loved this book, it's a fun, quick, sexy read that I could not put down. I fell in love with Victoria and Jared, I love the way the author makes you feel as if you really know these characters on a personal level. Victoria is very relatable and the struggles she deals with is something most people face. Jared is hilarious and has a t-shirt fetish that I can relate to, he is my kind of guy! Some of the time I just wanted to reach in my kindle and shake Victoria for some the decisions she makes and things she does. Parts of this book will break your heart, some may even bring a tear to your eye and then there are moments that make your heart flutter and I promise you will swoon over Jared ;)
Poor Victoria can't catch a break, she suffers the heart break of a failed marriage at the age of 25. Now she is left trying to pick up the broken pieces of her life as she moves to a new city and starts fresh with a new job as an elementary school teacher. She's been in the city all of a day and she accidentally hits a dog with her car. Being the good Samaritan she is, she takes the dog to the vet for medical attention where she meets the unbelievably sexy Jared, who just happens to be said Vet and it's instant chemistry, he is fun and it's easy to just be herself around him, not to mention he is a HOTTIE, but Victoria is wary, she isn't ready for a relationship so she decides to keep things light with him. Jared knows he wants more with Victoria and does everything to convince her they should be together. Victoria has to learn to let go of the past, and follow her heart.
TEASER: Jared's POV:
I stop in my tracks again but for a different reason. She is next to me now still holding my hand and as I look down at her face all I want to do is take away the pain she must have felt. I have to touch her and feel her, my car is just a block away but I can't wait much longer. I pull her to the side of a small gift store that is now closed and walk a little further so we're encased in darkness. With the way the rain is pouring down on us there is no one around to look as I place her against the wall. I cup her face with my hands and claim her lips for my own; leaving us both breathless as our kiss intensifies. My fingers trail into her hair and softly massage her scalp. I can hear her groan. Kissing her mouth isn't enough, I want all of her.
