Tour Stop: Get Bent (Rock Hard Root Book #2) by C.M. Stunich

Mature - Ages 18 and Up. Contains sex, drugs, violence, and rock 'n' roll.

"I fell in love with a girl last week. I didn't expect it, didn't even know what was happening to me until it was too late."

Naomi Knox is missing.
I don't even f*cking know whether she's dead or alive.
What I do know is that she's the air I need to breathe.
She's my redemption, an all consuming fire that burns in my blood.
And I'll do anything to find her. Anything. Even if it means the end for me.

& & &

Turner Campbell is searching.
But he has no f*cking clue what it is he's searching for.
There's darkness all around and enough secrets to choke.
There are angels, and there are devils. It's impossible to tell them apart.
Light needs to be shone on the truth, but there's no one left to hold the torch. The line between life and death is blurred, and the players are all thoroughly entrenched in the game. The question is: am I still one of them?

Get Bent
Real Ugly (Book #1)
Meet Turner Campbell
Turner is a special kind of guy. He grew up without respect, so he demands it, even if it makes him come across as a bit of an asshole. He's got piercings and tats for days, and a mouth with no filter. If you're expecting wise words woven into his insults, you're looking in the wrong place. Turner Campbell's searching; he just doesn't know what it is that he's searching for. But he does have tattoos on his … well, you know. Yep. All over down there. Bats and spider webs. Kinda cool, right?

Meet Naomi Knox
Naomi Knox is hardcore. She has to be. Growing up without parents will do that to a person, especially when you're subjected to the horrors only a special type of foster family can provide … But she can play a mean guitar and she'll write music that'll make Beethoven weep in his grave. Just don't ask about her dirty, little secrets. Well, I suppose little isn't exactly the right word. Huge. Monstrous. Looming. Maybe those are better choices?

This is the second book in the Real Ugly Series and gives us a better look into Turner Campbell. Get Bent is from his POV and picks up right where Real Ugly left off. Naomi Knox is missing, everyone believes that she is dead, that she is the cut up mangled body laying in the morgue, everyone that is except for Turner Campbell. He knows deep down that she isn't dead, she can't be, she's out there somewhere and he is going to find her.

The web of lies is spun so thick you can't see through them to know who to trust. Anyone on or off the tour could be involved and some people are acting shady. Turner is determined, he will find her but until then he will do what he can to keep her music alive, to keep her spirit alive.

Things will happen that will shock you to your core and you really don't know who to trust or what's really going on for that matter. I thought I had everything figured out but this web is so big and there are so many players as to who or what is going on and why for that matter, then we get another cliff hanger!! Not as big as the first one from Real Ugly, but it's still a cliff hanger!!

I really like Turner and liked reading from his POV but I love Naomi and her snarky attitude, I was more drawn into the story in her POV but it's good to know what's really going on in Turner's head. He really does love Naomi and it's good to see that change in him. He's not such a dirt bag like we originally thought :)

About the Author
C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin's (yes, that's her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.

Always a fan of the indie scene and 'sticking it to the man,' Ms. Stunich decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. You can be assured though that she received several rejections as to ensure her proper place in the world of writers before taking up a friend's offer to start a publishing company. Sarian Royal was born, and Ms. Stunich's books slowly transformed from mere baking chocolate to full blown tortes with hand sculpted fondant flowers.

C.M. is a writer obsessed with delivering the very best and scours her mind on a regular basis to select the most unusual stories for the outside world.
