Review: Driven (The Driven Trilogy) by K. Bromberg

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Okay, so everyone is talking about this book! All of my blogger friends, book buddies even my co-workers are beside themselves over it. I just HAD to know what all of the fuss was about! I keep getting every kind of emotion from my friends. Some loved it, some had a love hate relationship, others were so torn with emotions they just didn't know how to act, lol. So what did I do? I did what any other book lover would do, I jumped in to find out for myself what all of the buzz was.

In the beginning I wasn't really that impressed. I just couldn't fathom what the big deal was. It felt a little cliche to me and the back and forth was too much. But...I always power on, so power on on did. So glad I did!! Even though the story line was very familiar with several other books going around right now, it was still entertaining and excellent. There are unique situations that I did not intend to pop up, and I can clearly point out the exact spot when my heart fluttered and I realized this was not going to be as boring as I originally thought.

I am extremely pleased with how well the storyline turned around. If you start to read and find yourself hating it or being bored, just keep on it! You will not regret it. I enjoyed the characters, the steam and the romance. Again, a bit cliche, but still some uniqueness to it. There is some killer chemistry between the characters and the sex is HAWT!!! I mean really, how could sex with a race car driver not be hot, lol.

  1. Thanks for reading Melissa...I'm glad you stuck with it and fell in love/hate with Colton and Rylee! I also want to know what moment you fell in love...I can guess, but it's nice to know to make sure I keep it up in Fueled!

    Thanks for your time!

    1. My moment was with Colton met Zander and how he kind of used his affect on Zander to get the date :) I love how compassionate he was with Zander and how he didn't just brush him off as some little kid. Total swoon moment!

    2. Oh, and even though the name is Colton Donovan, I really like calling him Donovan in my head, lol.

    3. That's the turning point for most readers...so I figured it was for you too. And I spent a lot of time calling him Donavan and CD for short when I was outlining so I had to make sure that I converted them all over when I typed...lol
