Author Spotlight: Liz Crowe

Can two dark souls ever make a light?

As president of her own distribution company, Julie Dawson has all she ever wanted -- money, power, and respect. But her carefully crafted façade conceals a torment of abuse and helplessness. After years remaining emotionally aloof, she is finally independent, but alone. Because she refuses to rely on anyone but herself ever again.

Evan Adams is no stranger to success, or personal demons. The horrific trauma that destroyed his twin sister, and tore his family apart, forced him to craft a
new life from the ashes of the old. He's content enough, focusing ahead and not dwelling on his murky past. But something important is missing. He knows what that thing is but refuses to acknowledge it.

When a chance encounter brings these two strong-willed but damaged people
together, what seems like a long, erotic journey through hell could lead them to
a match made in heaven.

Meet the Characters:
Mutual Release, book 7 (stand alone) of the top selling Stewart Realty series is a coming of age novel about two people who have a lot to overcome in order to find enough inner peace so that they can connect and discover happiness together.

***A few interesting facts about Evan Adams:

He is a fraternal twin. And he ends up the father of fraternal twin girls. This type of twin runs in families, it is believed. But in this case it’s not true because fraternal twins are the result of two eggs being released and available for fertilization, not because of anything the father does (other than, of course, fertilize them both).

Evan is a hard core fan of Nine Inch Nails, Breaking Benjamin and Ministry. He’s been known to enjoy Eminem on occasion too but likes to keep it pretty loud and angry.

Evan owns a craft microbrewery in Ann Arbor and his favorite beer of all time is a Russian Imperial Stout.

His punishment of choice is withdrawal when he wants to make a point but when he wants to get his woman off, it’s always the butter-soft, leather flogger.

Julie Anderson is a tough cookie. Some would consider her a bitch. As boss of a very successful beer and wine distribution company it would hard to be a “softie” and still be as successful as she is so…she goes with “bitch” most days.

***A few interesting facts about Julie:
She fights hard to keep her figure at a size 10. Yes, I said a size 10. She is tall, curvy and sexy and works out nearly daily but has no desire to be anything less than the “perfect 10” (Evan’s phrase) she is.

Julie is a total hop head, meaning she prefers her beer bitter and astringent (like an “IPA”) but preferably with a little higher alcohol content that your standards.

She hates sappy romance movies and prefers to be entertained by shoot-em-ups or superheroes, preferably the kind who look really good in their costumes.

She loves nothing more than when her man calls her at the end of the day, tells her to get home, get naked and get ready for him. Of course, with twin girls in the house, sometimes that is a challenge but I like to keep my “romance” stories on the “real” side so they figure out a way most times but sometimes they don’t and make do with a quickie before passing out in exhaustion until the next day.

The title of every Stewart Realty series novel is based on an actual real estate term. I sold houses for over 10 years and based a lot of action and activity on that life. “Mutual release” is when the two parties in a contractual agreement to purchase a house (buyer and seller) sign off to release the contract and each other from their obligations to fulfill it. Although I do enjoy the double entendre of this, and many of the other Stewart Realty titles!

The Damien Slate character in the Mutual Release novel is, to me, a very real entity in today’s world of “fake” Doms. Men who pose as a certain kind of sexual type in order to lure women seeking their own “perfect man” thanks to romance novels in places like chat rooms or other dangerous venues. But who, in reality are mere psychopathic abusers.

Reviews for Mutual Release:

Liz Crowe never lets me down. Again, she has written a well-crafted story full of ordinary people with extremely difficult problems. I like her characters because they are not fairy tale perfect. They're gritty, difficult, highly dysfunctional – REAL. – Amazon Review

This is Liz Crowe at her best. Not only is Mutual Release an amazing part of her incredible award winning Stewart Realty series (it's #7 in the series), but it's written so that it can serve as a stand-alone novel! - Goodreads Review

This is a "can't miss" and "can't put down" book. My first entry into the Stewart series, I had no idea what to expect, but this book packed everything I ask for in a book between its covers. I laughed, cried, and was utterly unprepared for the twists and turns it took. - Goodreads Review
