Bio:

He heard Tyson talking in low tones to Demos, but was still a little too out of it to understand what was being said. His sensitive hearing picked up the dial tone of a phone before the beeps of buttons being pushed to dial a number. He didn’t bother to open his eyes and see what was going on. Tyson would take care of the situation as he said he would. The man had never failed to have his back in the hundred or so years that he’d known him, Gage didn’t really expect him to let him down now.

With the surge of adrenaline running through his body, and battling his tiger who was still fighting to break free of its human shell, Gage damn near felt buzzed in the head. He wasn’t sure how much time was passing as he stood there getting his shit together, but eventually the sound of Demos’ raised voice cut through and penetrated his brain.

At one point I see her eyeing the tattoo on my forearm and before I know it her fingers graze over the italic words and the jagged, raised scar that underlines them as she reads aloud to herself. “Vulneratus non victus. What does it mean?”

I begin to tell her about the time when a roadside IED hit the Humvee in front of mine. My left arm had been hanging out the window and a piece of shrapnel tore into it. I had a four inch gash that had required forty-two stitches, but other than that I’d been fine. 

“It’s Latin for ‘wounded, but not conquered.’ We were fortunate to have not had any bad injuries, so when we got back the guys and I all went and got this tattoo to commemorate that those bastards tried, but failed.” 

 

She pales slightly at the mention of my injury, no matter how minor, so I wrack my brain trying to find a way to change the conversation into something much lighter, even though her fingers trailing over the words on my arm are making my skin tingle, bringing all kinds of erotic thoughts to mind.

I listened silently, not sure what to do or say. This quiet, introspective side of Garrett had me off balance.

His eyes were closed and his fingers moved along the fret board with a confidence that was definitely appealing. His face was open and unguarded and I could watch him like this forever.

I liked this Garrett. I more than liked this Garrett. He fascinated me.

The memory was so vivid that I knew it could only be from that night. Shit, I remembered him fucking me with his tongue before he crawled over top of me and told me how beautiful I was. And the look in his eyes had been earth shattering.

I tingled from head to toe and I desperately wanted to remember more. 

Review:
I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with this book!! A. Meredith Walters is a literary genius. This is definitely a 5 star read, this series so far is a 5 star series, one of my favorites so far.

Riley Walker has her life all planned out, she knows what she wants and how she wants to achieve it and nothing can side track her. She doesn't have time for people who waste their life away. I love Riley's smart mouth and attitude, she is definitely my kind of girl, we could so be friends. Riley's life was going great, school and social life were about as good as they could be until her boyfriend Damien decided he wanted something different than what they had and just dropped her. Riley was pissed and hurt, so in true best friend fashion Maysie pulls her out of her funk and makes her go to a Generation Rejects after party for some fun.

 

 

Insert Garrett Bellows, lead guitarist for Generation Rejects and the one person that Riley can't stand. He is the definition of slacker in her eyes and every time they are around each other the insults start flying. Riley finally gets a glimpse at the real Garrett Bellows, not the guy he lets every one else see and she realizes she may have been a bit judgemental where he is concerned but the damage is done and she may have pushed him a little too far. The chemistry between them is undeniable and Garrett is by far my favorite band member. And for those of you that fell in love with Jordan and Maysie, don't worry their story continues in this book as well.

 

I can't wait for more from this series and the rest of the band members and friends. I am now an A. Meredith Walters fan for life and will read anything and everything she writes. She definitely has a way with words that will have you laughing out loud.
